农业情况
日本狭长的国土上具有亚热带和副极带气候特征。由于有丰富的降雨和温暖的气候条件，日本种植作物种类广泛。日本农业工料和物料使用密集，一半的耕地种植有水稻，作物种植面积如下表所示（2013年数据）：

农药市场情况
杀虫剂和除草剂各占日本农药销售的30%，杀菌剂占20%。此外杀虫剂和杀菌剂预混的产品销售占10%，这类产品主要用于水稻。详细情况见下表：

各类别农药使用情况
2013年用于蔬菜/高地农田的杀菌剂销售额占杀菌剂销售总额的52%，其次为果树，占到26%。用于水稻田除草剂的销售额占除草剂销售总额的58%。用于蔬菜/大田作物的杀虫剂销售额占杀虫剂销售总额的56%。在杀虫剂和杀菌剂混剂类别中，用于水稻的销售额占总额的89%。具体情况见下表（百万日元）：
新登记的活性成分
2014年5月至2015年4月，有7种新农药活性成分获得了日本登记。其中5种由日本农药公司研发，另2种分别由杜邦和拜耳研发。详细情况见下表：
